Casis Weekly (4/13/26 - 4/17/26)
Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Last week was our first round of STAAR Testing for 3rd – 5th grades. It was a successful set of testing sessions for our students. This week, our 5th graders will be taking the Science test, so we wish our oldest students the very best on this important state assessment. And we’re so excited to celebrate ‘Spirit Week’ at Casis, leading up to our adult event, ‘The Big Chill’ on the weekend. There will also be a 3rd Grade Choir Concert. A lot of upcoming happenings in the months of April and May will bring closure to this school year, as we also plan for the next school year.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Last week, we all enjoyed an atypical, but enjoyable, day off. And our New Student Registration event was also a success, with great community attendance. This week, there will be STAAR Testing for 3rd – 5th grades, so we wish all of these students the very best on this important state assessment. A lot of upcoming happenings in the months of April and May will bring closure to this school year, as we also plan for the next school year.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Last week, AISD Pride Week highlighted the importance of being an accepting and welcoming community for all students. There were some opportunities at each Grade Level for our learning community to unite and reaffirm our values around this particular recognition event. Our Prospective Parent Tour for March was also a successful event as well. This week will contain more activities, like our New Student Registration event, as well as another School Holiday (Dolores Huerta Day) early in the week.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! I hope that everyone enjoyed relaxing time with family over the break and are ready to ‘spring back’ into the rest of the school year. This week is ‘AISD Pride Week’ and our next ‘Prospective Parent Tour’. As we continue our work together this second semester, there is still much to learn, to do, and to look forward to. We will also continue to focus on student learning growth and enrichment opportunities, as well as on safe and secure practices. Please see important information for the week below.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Last week, Picture Day went very well. All classes looked so great. And what a time we had, as we celebrated our 75th Anniversary (aka Birthday) for Casis Elementary! The daytime event was such a special time for our current school community. Our kids did an amazing job dancing and we were so honored to have our Superintendent and Trustee to join us. And the evening event with Casis Alumni, Community Members, and our own Mayor, will never be forgotten. Every happening that day and evening was done with heart and was a true labor of love. I want to thank our amazing Steering Committee, our supportive PTA, our talented students and Dance Coordinator (Coach D), and all other volunteers who played a hand in making this 75th celebration one of the best in Casis’ history. I’m so overwhelmed with Cougar PRIDE to be able to lead this special Learning Community.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Last week, our Prospective Parent Tour was well-attended and our last Administrators’ Coffee Chat was great. March is here and Spring is upon us! This week will be time for Class Group Pictures. Say cheese! And we’re celebrating our 75th Anniversary on Thursday, March 5, with some very special events on our campus, both during the day and after school. We are so excited to celebrate this monumental milestone in our school’s history.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Last week was our scheduled conference day for families. We hope that those who participated in a conference found it to be informative and helpful. This last week in February will be action-packed with our February Prospective Parent Tour and Administrators’ Coffee Chat. And we’re counting the days until our 75th Anniversary events (Thursday, March 5). We are so excited to celebrate this monumental milestone in our school’s history.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! It was so much fun last week to see how some of our classes celebrated the 100th Day of School. What a milestone! And we were thrilled to welcome Bob Shea to Casis for our annual Author Visit Day. It was truly an exciting day of presentations, book-signings, and even a ‘Casis Times’ interview. And the luncheon with the staff was just so very special. Huge thanks goes to our Librarian, Courtney Ewing, and to our Parent Volunteers, who made this event so very memorable for us all. In addition to the district scheduled day this week, Spring Conferences have also been underway during this month.

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! Our rescheduled Prospective Parent Tour went well last week. As February continues to fly by, we’re so excited to celebrate the 100th Day of School on Tuesday, February 10. What a milestone in our school year! And of course, on that same day, the kids and staff are most excited to welcome Bob Shea to Casis Elementary for our annual Author Visit Day. Spring Conferences are also underway during this month. Wow, what an action-packed month!

Cougar PRIDE Families, It’s going to be another great week at Casis! I’m so glad that everyone was able to stay safe and warm during our unexpected ‘Weather Days’ last week. Due to the missed days, our January Prospective Parent Tour will take place this week. Yes, the month of January has just flown by and February is here. During this month, we’ll celebrate the 100th day of school, have our annual Author Visit, among other great learning happenings.
