Resources
English as a Second Language (ESL)
When a parent/guardian indicates on the Home Language Survey that a language other than English is spoken in the home, the student will be assessed to determine if he or she needs ESL services. In ESL, students participate in activities to help develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. ESL students come from many different backgrounds and cultures, and it is important that their school experience be a happy and welcoming one. We strive to recognize and respect these students’ individual cultures while introducing the culture of the United States.

Specialized Instruction
The following types of specialized instruction are offered depending upon student needs.
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
The TEKS identify what Texas students should know and be able to do at every grade and in every subject area. Every day our world becomes more complex and demanding. To succeed beyond high school, students must be better prepared than at any time in the history of our state. Our expectations for our students and our schools are higher than they have ever been. Casis Elementary provides a rich, diverse curriculum based on the TEKS.
